Free FRCR physics notes
These beautiful notes are for those sitting the first FRCR physics exam and are based on, and cover, the entire scope of the RCR Radiology - integrated training initiative (R-ITI) e-learning upon which the first FRCR physics exams are based. They are not a replacement for studying the R-ITI modules, but hopefully make things a little more structured and easy to understand, as well as provide a reference point when you quickly need to look something up. Our notes are also on the RANZCR recommended reading list for the Applied Imaging Technology examination for Australian and New Zealand radiology trainees.
The clearly organised nature of the notes makes them ideal for dipping into a specific topic for reference, although if you fancy reading the entire physics syllabus, you can do that too! We've even added a search bar to help you.
The notes also provide an excellent overview for anyone interested in learning about the physics of radiology. They have been separated into chapters covering basic science, x-ray imaging, CT imaging, ultrasound imaging, MR imaging, molecular imaging, and radiation dosimetry, protection and legislation.
Accurate and concise
The scope of the notes is based on the RCR Radiology - Integrated Training Initiative which forms the basis of the exam. The aim has been to make the notes concise but comprehensive with plenty of beautiful diagrams to aid in understanding. Each field of radiology physics is covered and separated into structured pages to make it easier to work through or to provide a quick point of reference.

About the author
The notes were created by Dr Sarah Abdulla. While revising for her First FRCR (part 1) physics exam she became frustrated with the lack of concise yet comprehensive notes written in a way she could easily understand. This led to her creating her own notes. She'd be sat with multiple browser tabs open and multiple books around her, putting together simple notes with diagrams to elaborate. She soon realised that, perhaps, others had the same problem and might find these notes useful so decided to make them available online.
